Create your own Android Application via Google App Inventor

Google has revealed a new software tool that lets almost anyone make apps for mobile phones that use its Android software. The beta version of the Web site for App Inventor for Android went live from Google Labs providing all the information on how easy it is to make apps, including a number of ideas for apps people can make themselves.

Most importantly, to use App Inventor, you do not need to be a developer as it requires NO programming knowledge. This is because instead of writing code, you visually design the way the app looks and use blocks to specify the app’s behavior.

The App Inventor team has created blocks for just about everything you can do with an Android phone, as well as blocks for doing “programming-like” stuff– blocks to store information, blocks for repeating actions, and blocks to perform actions under certain conditions. There are even blocks to talk to services like Twitter.

Check out this 60 second video showing an app being made with App inventor for Android:

While this is a great initiative, it might also be a problem if anybody and everybody starts coming up with applications…which one do you think would be good or bad?  What do you think…what’s your opinion?
