It’s raining tablets…literally. After Kapil Sibal unveiled the $35 tablet recently, and Indian company, Olive Telecom announced that it will soon be coming up with India’s first 3G tablet – OlivePad V-T100.
The Olive Pad runs on Google’s Android OS and supports 3.5G HSUPA, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS. The 7″ touchscreen device comes packed with dual cameras – a 3 megapixel rear camera and a VGA front camera as well as a mini-USB port. What’s more, the tablet also doubles up as a smartphone that allows users to make voice and video calls. Olive Pad can be used as a touch notebook for browsing, multimedia, instant messaging and social networking, GPS for maps and turn by turn directions, as a gaming console, as an e-book reader and TV!…whoa…isn’t that phenomenal?
The Olive Pad is expected to be priced below Rs 25,000 and will be available across India by August.
Well, with the kind of features and pricing that the OlivePad is coming with…it might be hard for global tablet makers like Apple iPad, Dell Streak etc to make a mark in the India market…what do you guys think?
