Microsoft Project Natal gives a new dimension to gaming

Before you read the post…check out the video below and you will just want to know more and more about this amazing offering by Microsoft

“Introducing Project Natal, a revolutionary new way to play: no controller required.  See a ball? Kick it, hit it, trap it or catch it.  If you know how to move your hands, shake your hips or speak you and your friends can jump into the fun — the only experience needed is life experience.”

Project Natal is Microsoft’s camera based motion-controller for ‘controller free gaming and entertainment experience’. Players can interact and control the Xbox 360 console through Natal using natural gestures and spoken commands. This unique add-in peripheral  is sure to give Nintendo Wii’s MotionPlus and Sony’s PlayStation Move motion controller a run for their money!

It was unveiled last year at E3 convention and the company has now sent out an invite for the World Premiere of “Project Natal” for Xbox 360 Experience on June 13 at the Electronic Entertainment Expo 2010 at Los Angeles.

It is rumored to be available from November 2010 and will cost around Rs. 4,000 approx. but I guess, the official pricing will also be announced on June 13, 2010. Some of the biggest names in game industry that include Activision, Bethesda, Capcom, Disney, EA, Konami, MTV, Namco Bandai, Sega, Square Enix, THQ and Ubisoft have committed to develop games for Natal. Epic Games said it will offer Natal support for all future Xbox games.

Let us hope we get it in India soon so that all of us can enjoy this revolutionary form of gaming!

@Vinni – This is what the rumours say…the exact pricing will be announced only on June 13.

  3. I am sure they have to keep it competitive else there is no advantage over the Wii .. Microsoft innovation, again driven by copying 🙁
