Movie Review: Inception…blows your mind away!

Let’s get it straight, INCEPTION easily ranks amongst the best movies ever. It is an edge of the seat thriller and does not allow you to wave away even for a second…you blink and you miss!

Here is the plot summary  – Dom Cobb is a skilled thief, the absolute best in the dangerous art of extraction, stealing valuable secrets from deep within the subconscious during the dream state, when the mind is at its most vulnerable. Cobb’s rare ability has made him a coveted player in this treacherous new world of corporate espionage, but it has also made him an international fugitive and cost him everything he has ever loved. Now Cobb is being offered a chance at redemption. One last job could give him his life back but only if he can accomplish the impossible-inception. Instead of the perfect heist, Cobb and his team of specialists have to pull off the reverse: their task is not to steal an idea but to plant one. If they succeed, it could be the perfect crime. But no amount of careful planning or expertise can prepare the team for the dangerous enemy that seems to predict their every move. An enemy that only Cobb could have seen coming

Chris Nolan is back after Dark Knight and the plot is even more complex but even more engrossing, entertaining and powerful. Inception is sure to go down into history as a MASTERPEICE. Everything about the movie is just so perfect, the plot, the direction, the performances, the cinematography, the background score (simply superb), action….it seems like Nolan can do nothing wrong.

It will be wrong to single out a single performance as the best because each and every member of the star cast does a superb job to say the least. Hats off to all – Leonardo DiCaprio, Joseph Gordon-Lewitt, Michael Caine, Ellen Page and Marion Cotillard for delivering such stellar performances that keep the movie flawless.

A final word, as I mentioned above, Inception is easily one of the best movies ever and is a masterpiece, you just cannot afford to miss it. It has everything you ever want in a blockbuster…and I bet you would want to watch it again!

My Rating – 4.5/5

  1. You have written the review in such a way so as to avoid giving out the plot. Good work. 🙂

  2. I agree, it is indeed a brilliant film. My take here: http://morethanfilms.blogspot.com/2010/07/short-notes-udaan-lamha-and-inception.html

  3. If somebody said Matrix was a movie which made the grey cells work tirelessly to understand and enjoy the movie, then here is a flick which is much more than that in terms of entertainment.if you miss even 2 min you loose track ..waise this movie will keeps binded and when one comes out of the multiplex after 2.5 hrs you will feel it was just 5 minutes ago you entered there and will be guessing wether you are in dream or reality..Its a master piece in terms of storyline,direction,acting .

    @Nona – Thanks 🙂

    @Sid – Totally…it ranks amongst the finest films ever made…

    @Ravindra – Absolutely…and infact..during the movie…not even a single phone rang and there was absolute silence across the theatre.

  5. I haven’t watched it but I know that its a very rare movie, one of the best of all time but in any case for such movie how can u deduct “.5” mark as its just perfect. whats the end of creativity? there is a point where an artist gets full marks and inception is one of them. After exceptional memento, the prestige, batman begins and the dark knight what more do you expect???? Vishal it should have been 5/5.

  6. vishalgaba

    @Pankul – I totally agree with you…infact i would have given it 6 out of 5 because I just loved it to the hilt. The only reason I didn’t give it 5/5 was because of the open ended ending as there were several views on it…that maybe a part of Nolan’s strategy but nobody is sure about it. Otherwise, if you read the review I have clearly mentioned – it is easily one of the best movies of all time:)

    And thanks for sharing your view 🙂

  7. loved the movie.. it is sorta matrix like movie. I watched it twice.
