Well honestly, I was expecting Remember Me to be a love story…atleast that is what the trailers suggested but that is not the case! The movie is more of a family drama revolving around the life of a man trying to get over the tragedies of his past and problems he is facing in the present.
Robert Pattinson plays Tyler Hawkins, a 21 year old angst-ridden kid who has issues with his dad. Still unable to recover from the loss of his elder brother years before, Tyler channels all his anger on his dad Charles Hawkins (Pierce Brosnan) who plays a super successful businessman and whose first and last focus have been his company. Post a clash with a police detective (Chris Cooper), Tyler and his best friend Aidan (Tate Ellington) land into jail where Aidan suggests he enact his revenge by wooing the officer’s daughter Ally (Emilie de Ravin). However, as expected the drama doesn’t last long and he falls madly in love with her.
Allen Coulter does well in narrating a simple story with a great climax (I loved it) and the mood intense. The movie is made for Hollywood heartthrob Robert Pattinson! He comes out of his vampire mode and delivers a brilliant performance as a depressed youngster. Pierce Brosnan, although doesn’t have much footage, plays the tough dad with ease. Emilie De Ravin acts really well and shares a great chemistry with Pattinson. Tate Ellington adds the much needed comic element to the movie. The girl playing Tyler’s sister deserves a special mention as she does a commendable job.
Overall, the movie narrates a simple story and is backed by some really good performances…but the slow pace is a major drawback

Seen this movie and nothing great about it. Is too slow for the most part of it. Robert Pattinson stands out IMO but the others are just about ok. I wonder what Pierce Brosnan was thinking when he took up that role?? Overall just about am ok movie, can be given a miss but probably Robert Pattinson fans would watch this movie nonetheless.
