After watching Rocket Singh- Salesman of the year…one feels confused on what to say about this movie…good…bad…worth it…or not!
You clearly see a sincere effort that has gone into the movie….performances, direction, background score…everything seems good but when it all comes together…it doesn’t leave that great an impact on you and especially the ending which ideally should have had some kind of feeling of victory…unfortunately it doesn’t!
The story starts where Wake up Sid ended…Sid or Harpreet Singh Bedi [Ranbir Kapoor] has MANAGED to graduate through college with minimum marks and is now all geared up to start and shine in his career as a salesman. Very soon he realizes that he will have to give up all his values to match the expectations of his bosses and succeed in this business. From then on begins his journey where he understands the how and what of the business. Here again…the plot seems interesting but doesn’t match up to your expectations
Post Chak De India, Shimit Amin yet again that he is an efficient storyteller and narrates this story with conviction. Ranbir Kapoor does a phenomenal job as Harpreet Bedi. He is getting better and better with every film. Prem Chopra does a fantastic job playing a positive role after a long long time. The actors playing Ranbir’s Boss (Sunil Puri) and his colleague Nitin, both are excellent in their respective roles. D. Santosh is first-rate. Gauhar Khan gets noticed while Shazahn Padamsee doesn’t get any scope but looks good on screen.
It’s a sincere effort to make a clean movie…but..it doesnt match upto what one expected!
Overall Rating – 3/5
Very true… A convincing plot picturised in an unconvincing way…. Nevertheless…Ranbir grabs all appreciation for his efforts and admiring surd looks… 🙂
So what did you expect ?
